I love this guy!

I love abdullah abdur razzaq.

Listen here (99.5 radio interview on Education at the Crossroads with Basir Mchawi) to see why I fell in love. he is SO smart (amazing memory) and adorable and rambling and I wish he was my grandpa and we got drunk and he told me his stories about farming in BG and studying japanese.

this is his mini bio:
James 67X, also known as Abdullah H. Abdur-Razzaq and James Shabazz, was a longtime associate and friend of Malcolm X and served as his close aide and chief secretary in the last year of Malcolm X's life. A native of the South and a graduate of Columbia University, Razzaq joined the Nation of Islam in the 1950s, and was a member of Temple No. 7, in Harlem, where he became a lieutenant under Joseph X, the leader of the Fruit of Islam. Although Joseph X was one of Malcolm X's chief rivals in the Nation Of Islam, Razzaq nevertheless became one of Malcolm X's most trusted aides within the mosque. Razzaq was a close ally of Malcolm X even as his friend's relationship with Elijah Muhammad began to unravel, and he warned Malcolm X repeatedly that talk of his murder was circulating at Temple No. 7. Razzaq left the NOI with Malcolm X and became a "captain" of the men in Muslim Mosque, Inc., and he also helped to organize the OAAU. During the last year of Malcolm X's life, Razzaq was his constant companion, although in the weeks before Malcolm X's death Razzaq drifted away from the minister, frustrated with his personal and political risk-taking and with the confusing and rapid changes in his political ideology. On February 16, 1965, Razzaq warned Malcolm X that he had been "marked for death in the next five days." Following the firebombing of Malcolm X's home, Razzaq helped move the family to safety. He was present at the Audubon Ballroom when Malcolm X was assassinated.

inconsistencies and paul&joe

I'm pretty sure Paul& Joe is known for it's classic yet chic french style, with a bit a whimsical twist thrown if for good meausre (and usually a bit more of that in the diffusion sister line, but that's a good thing. Their current season delivers the goods with some solid classic pieces that could be revisited year after year, but some of it is utter shit - maybe they were trying to please a wider audience from young LA coke heads to the hip and fashionable (us) to trendy moms at a sunday brunch.

hello, i'm the world's most generic top. you may remember me from your wardrobe circa 2001.

and this is my sister, inoffensive dress casual skirt

ignore the horrible urban outfitters model, this is the world's loveliest dress with crazy smocking in front and long row of covered buttons down the back. it will be mine.

more of things like this please

this is far too boho for my tastes

sorry, but I can make my own twisted sister t-shirt dresses

please god, i need this jersey biker jacket, but not in white because i WILL get spaghetti sauce all over it, even if i'm not eating spaghetti, or in at dinner...

LOVE the "girl version" of the russian mankini.

they call it "cheese and vulgarity" (in a good way) (I think). I call it "yes, please." the girl's version, not the boy's.
