"Curb Your Enthusiasm" Is Back, Bitter And Ballsy

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" Is Back, Bitter And Ballsy
Wine and women with age. Larry David is bitter.

Of course, bitter is better when it comes to David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," which began its eighth season on HBO Sunday night after a break of almost two years.

He and his now ex-wife, Cheryl, who walks in what was likely to divorce as amicably in history. But the real highlight: David teach Scouts how to use a buffer through the door of her bathroom. He offered the following defense when his father expressed his disgust: "If his nose was running and she needed a tissue, I would have given him a handkerchief."

It has only just begun. It seemed hard to top meeting Sevens season 'Seinfeld', but judging by a screening of three episodes set to air in the coming weeks, David has done. Forget about pushing the envelope - it puts things on fire with the third episode of the season, where he proposes to take on the old Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

David and his friend a manager to develop a craving for chicken in a Palestinian restaurant in Los Angeles. They note that a Palestinian restaurant would be a great place for the Jews to their friends cheat on their spouses, Jeff and suggests a solution to the long-standing tensions between Israel and the Palestinian territories: "What these people have to do is send their chickens to Israel. "

But the chicken becomes a problem when David and his most fervent Jewish friends learn that another Palestinian branch of the restaurant is ready to open the door next to a Jewish deli landmark. His friends to suggest a rally to force the Palestinians. (Remember "Ground Zero Debate mosque?" The way, but with the tasty meat.)

There is no need to give it all away here. Suffice it to say that there is a fight over a yarmulke, a date with a Palestinian woman who encourages David to show him the "promised land", an argument filled cry of a woman, played by Maggie Wheeler (better known as nasal Janice from "Friends") and a couple more little ways before the battle comes to a head.

A lot of crises in this period, especially middle-aged in general. David resigned from the series and in real life, is unique and ready to mingle. His married friends are fighting, more than ever. One of his friends must be a born-again Jew, another will have a spiritual vow of silence.

But the rules still immature. The ninth episode of the season in search of David, "Seinfeld" stomping ground, New York, includes therapy sessions added embarrassment of a childhood case of trucks Mr. Softee ice cream. And David to give the term "Joy Ride", a whole new meaning when his girlfriend, played by "Saturday Night Live" alum Ana Gasteyer, discovers the secret of the passenger seat of his car.

Gasteyer and Wheeler are among the many special guests grace "empty" eighth season. The range includes: Ricky Gervais, Rosie O'Donnell and Michael J. Wanda Sykes stars Recurring Fox and JB Smoove backwards. Susie Essman, like the woman ugly mug, David, is the true form.

Since the "Larry" started, it was a question of purpose. David, crank, he did not try to hide the fact he does not like the promotion and publicity surrounding the season. If this season is the end, it's a way to go. But as the Palestinian war of chicken shows that no one else will, where David is. Hoping he has in him to keep it off for another round.
