okay that's not really the name of the video -- it's a short about the new aldo campaign ft. jessica stam that terry richardson shot
but for some reason I love watching videos of models (modeling) for print ads. and this one doesn't disappoint (well if you're not into watching models it's pretty boring, but I like it)

fuck all these young ana models that think sulking into a camera is modeling. eva herzigova shows all the young 'ens how to do it.
the shot with the sheer maroon shirt kills me. in a good way.

modern day pin-ups
I looovveee this calander and want it so fuckin much. the ladies are somewhat-famous models (if only in the fashion world) dressed as old-school pin-ups (but w/ a modern twist. and not in a douche-y boring overdone way) and I really like it.

here are some of my favorites:

into it!
I really really want to see the other pics from fall prada campaign. I love this and it's so powerful and feminine and sexy and I love that they finally used a different model (glorious linda evangalista) than their usual sasha piranorexic for everything.
"Miuccia Prada released to WWD a preview of her fall Prada campaign featuring Linda Evangelista dressed in a collection strong on lace and sly gender plays. 'We imagined her so beautiful in this collection,' the Italian designer said."

how stylists think that punks dress
so last night's america's next top model (smile w/ your eyes, says tyra) was on and the girls' photoshoot theme was "music"
so each chick dressed up to a different genre. now this is where I find it interesting. How, exactly, do stylists think punk rockers dress? Or emo? thanks to antm, now we can judge!
Whitney - grunge (aka the fatty. not really but everyone won't stop telling her she's "the plus-sized one")
Katarzyna - emo
Lauren - Pop (bee-tee-dubs, this is the chick that describes herself as a punk rocker in real life and lives in brooklyn. um if you're a punk, why are you antm you fucking dumbass)
Fatima - Heavy Metal
Anya - Punk Rock (ummm. I don't know what to say about this)
Dominique - folk (she looks like tyra here. boringggg. and too clean to be folk)

so this is mostly to miss fantasy aka costume designer (and whoever else cares). what do you think the stylist did correctly and completely incorrectly about the outfits?
Whitney - grunge (aka the fatty. not really but everyone won't stop telling her she's "the plus-sized one")
Stacy Ann - house
Aimee - r&b (btw this is the chick that got eliminated)
Claire - country (and this is the chick that SHOULD'VE got eliminated. you look dead behind the eyes, claire)

wow
it's annoying to me how everybody is pooping their pants over agyness dean (whose real name is plain laura hollins), "oh she's so different" "the fashion world needs something new and she's it" blah blah blah
I don't think her style is that great (even though she was just voted best dressed over kate moss). I think she looks like a blind grandma, but maybe that's just me. anyways, besides this unfounded hatred I have for her, I came across this old pic of her and it just goes to show how much a stylist can do for you. even though she's not in hollywood and is a british model, I will call this being "hollywoodized" ... something jlo, brittany murphey, etc, know all about.
it's basically when you were busted before and then look amazing thanks to a good eyebrow waxer, hairstylist, fashion stylist, and trainer.

here are more pictures of her ugly style:

mostly I think she sucks from this one interview that I read w/ her where she says her favorite thing to do is get really dressed up and go to the pub w/ her flatmate henry. she said something along the lines of "henry and I get really dressed up and the cab driver asks us if we're going to a costume party and we're like, nope! just the pub!!" like a fucking cunt.
kd fantasy and I used to do something along those lines, but we didn't suck. and we did it as a joke on all the hipster trash who frequented the new brunswick bars and thought they were the shit. anyways, my point is, she blows.

ny fashion week is too white
I've been noticing a trend lately in the fashion world and entertainment (tv shows, reality shows --esp model reality shows, magazines, etc) that seems to be that everything is swinging back to really skinny heroin-esque looking white people. not that I'm the biggest fan of tan athletic amazon women, but I don't really understand why, for example, vogue's may cover story last year that featured "the next generation of supermodels" were 9 white women (6 of them blonde) and one bv. and I know that white is the majority in the US blah blah but seriously, you can't fucking put an asian model in the top 10, or 2 bvs? oh I'm sorry, I didn't know only one black person is allowed per photo shoot.
(oh, and I found this pic highlighted like this, but it served to fulfill my purpose, so hayy)

I don't really know what started this trend, but I am not into it. jezebel.com seems to have noticed the same thing and they actually made a breakdown of the white to non-white ratio. it's really pathetic:

also, I have a sneaking suspicion that prada refuses to use non-whiteys, and that makes me not like them, but I love prada and don't want to not like it. fuck.
