RZA and a chess social networking site ChessPark just launched "WuChess," an online partnership that revolves around chess and hip hop. wow. so many bp nerds (that I love) just died a little!! apparently, it is for "for chess enthusiasts addicted to hip-hop music." obvi

Here is the quote on the homepage of WuChess:

and in other bp-with-long-thin-dreads news . . . I actually thought lil weezy's popularity was going to be over after all this shit happened w/ him saying "fuck mixtape dj's" and there was a huge backlash and all the dj's retaliating by leaking his Tha Carter III. here are some of his key quotes (from an interview w/ foundation magazine, that lasted all of 6 minutes and ended w/ lil wayne throwing a magazine in the interviewer's face and being escorted out) (wha whattt):

"I ain't into all that, I don't remember no mixtape DJs," said Wayne. "I'm not into all that sh**. I don't know no mixtape DJs..."

"I created the mixtape game, but I'm not into that no more. I'm doing Lil Wayne. I'm against it, anti-mixtape dude. I don't know no mixtape DJs. F*** you if you're a mixtape DJ. I'm not into ... ya'll salting me out. I'm not with that," he continued."

he recently gave in interview to "clear up" aka backtrack on his comments. you can listen to that here. (he basically says his words were meant for 1 specific dj who leaked some of his music w/o asking)

Johnny Depp’s New Tattoo: What the hell was he thinking??

Johnny Depp was the big winner of the 2008 MTV Movies Awards, accepting awards for Best Comedic Performance and Best Villain. Taking a break from “Public Enemies”, Johnny sets the crowd on fire and reveals a brand new tattoo.
Yeah, what the hell was Johnny Depp thinking doing a tattoo that doesn’t read “C7Girl Forever” on his arm?? The beautiful tattoo has a deeper meaning… “Silence, Exile, Cunning.”
It’s a quote from the James Joyce’s book “A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man“. At five pages of the end of the book, we can find this quote, from the main character Stephen:

“I will tell you what I will do and what I will not do. I will not serve that in which I no longer believe, whether it call itself my home, my fatherland, or my church: and I will try to express myself in some mode of life or art as freely as I can and as wholly as I can, using for my defense the only arms I allow myself to use - silence, exile, and cunning.”

Steal the ‘Sex and the City’ Style: Carrie, Samantha, Miranda & Charlotte

Are you a city girl? You wanna look as fabulous as your favorite ‘Sex and the City’ girl?? We have some tips and suggestions for you…

Carrie: Anything goes for this fashion icon. I heard she has a more “mature” look in the movie but the yellow bustier dress could have been worn by Carrie in the early days. I guess we’ll be able to judge for ourselves after seeing her 81 wardrobe changes in the movie (left to right: sister eek dress by Giles, edith bustier dress by Luella, and little joe tunic by Gail Elliott).

Samantha: Often form fitting dresses in solid bands of saturated color — usually in pinks, oranges and blues. Kim Cattrall wore the Nicole Miller dress above on an interview with Oprah and would have been perfect for the movie if it were in turquoise blue. Remember to wear your collar up if you have a similar outfit to the DKNY dress (left to right: color block stretch twill dress by Nicole Miller, leaf print dress by DKNY, and color block bandage dress by Hervé Léger).

Miranda: It’s all about the fabrics for Miranda. Silky patterns and belted high waisted dresses look fantastic on her. Try the Vanessa Bruno deep purple dress with a gold belt (left to right: jet printed dress by Antik Batik, dance silk jersey dress by Single, and jersey mini by Vanesa Bruno).

Charlotte: Sweet Charlotte suits a-line skirts, particularly in pastels, or any outfit inspired by Audrey Hepburn (left to right: sleveless wrap dress by Neiman Marcus, diamond print dress by Milly, basketweave dress by Tibi).

My own favorite is Samantha!! Love her style! Love how careless and fun her character is but still stylish and classy… ok, maybe sometimes not as classy… but always fun! :D
