I don't really have feelings about j. lo one way or another. I mean I guess she sucks, but I don't really care enough to not like her. that said, I really liked this video and song from like 2001 she did w/ ja rule. seriously. I know all the words. I didn't have cable so whenever I was at my friends' houses and mtv was on and this video played I would make everybody shut up, put my baby hairs down on my forehead, and sing. when I was looking at the bomb it (documentary mentioned below) site I saw some art that looked familiar. I came across this pic sometime last year and blogged about it but didn't know where it was from and then I saw the same style on the bomb it site so I kept looking and found out about these 2 motherfuckers.
Os Gemeos, Portugese for “the twins,” are Brazil’s most world renowned graffiti artists/muralists. The identical twins began painting in ’88 and today work on canvases, sculptures, graphic design, and outdoor walls, making the transition from street credibility to international art gallery phenoms. They are huge for doing pichaçao (tag) spontaneously on the street.

There is this interview w/ terrible t-kid (a graffiti artist from the bronx that's been tagging since the 70s) that I haven't read yet but really want to. He ran w/ this crew the vamp squad (I want a crew!) that used to cause mayhem and ran around and robbed other writers.

he's interviewed in this new documentary about graffiti and street art called "bomb it" (click here to watch the trailer). it looks sweet b/c it's not just about old school graffiti but also this:

Update: I read the interview, and I am super into what he says about politicians and gentrification:

oh that reminds me. a month ago mr jones was at the eye doctor and I was in the waiting room and I saw this fatty white trashy across from me in her late 30s and she was wearing a faded black sweatshirt with three wolves on it and underneath in cursive it said "protectors of nature." it was amazing.
