Vin Diesel & Paloma Jimenez Welcome Baby Girl (Photos)

Wow! I didn’t know Vin Diesel was even dating? That’s the kind of celebrities we love. He is discrete, a bad ass, super sexy, hot and now a baby daddy!! Who wouldn't want Vin Diesel to be their daddy!!?!Apparently Vin has been keeping a long time relationship with a Mexican model, Paloma Jimenez (photos). The couple turned parents on April 2, when they welcomed a healthy baby girl. The story was confirmed by Vin’s rep but there’s no information on the baby name and other details.
Meanwhile Diesel is currently shooting and producing Fast and Furious, due out June 2009, and will next be seen starring in Babylon AD on August 29.
Congrats to the new parents!! :)

Hayden Panettiere & Milo Ventimiglia Getting Married!!

Our favorite heroes, Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia have a very public relationship and are subjected to lots of criticism, especially because of their age difference. The couple decided they wouldn’t talk about their love life.
Hayden insists that most reports written about her are false: "Nothing is private. And when they write about you, it's almost always completely false. I've never been pregnant, I've never moved in with somebody.
"There was a story about somebody giving me a ring that had 'Sweet like Hayden' engraved on it, and that person was like, `Eww, I would never give you that.' And I was like, `I would never take that.'"
We will only hear about Hayden’s personal life when she is happily married to co-star Milo Ventimiglia: "I'll not comment until the day I die. I'm going to be married and I'll be like, 'I don't know who you're talking about. Who?'"
So do you think these two are making plans for the future together? I would love to see this relationship last and have a happy ending. Age is just a number and they look perfect together!

drag one through georgia for me...

i'm starting a new career as....a waitress at a diner! (just to help to get a new place, i'm still costuming)

even though it might not be the most glamorous job, I'm excited to wear an apron at work and to use diner speak on a daily basis. I learned about diner talk from a children's book called Frank and Ernest about a bear and an elephant who start a diner together.

There is also another book about these two called Frank and Ernest on the Road and it teaches you trucker lingo instead. Apparently the two are pretty closely connected, but I can't understand why you would speak in code to keep your breakfast a secret.

anyway, i found a site that has a pretty complete list of diner talk. here are some of my favorites:

Broken Henberries
- scrambled eggs (or Busted)
Zeppelins in a Fog: Sausages in mashed potatoes
Twist It, Choke It, Make it Cackle: Chocolate malted milkshake with egg
Splash of Red Noise: Bowl of tomato soup
Shake one in the Hay: Strawberry milkshake
Put a Hat on it: add ice cream
Mama on a Raft: Marmalade on toast
Drag one Through Georgia: Chocolate coke, my favorite, a true diner delicacy!

on the fone...

a few days ago i was in the bathtub with mr. fantasy (nothing scandalous, just saving water!) and a friend phoned me and we had a 15 min. convo without him knowing i was sitting in the bath naked with my boo. I thought it was really funny and i decided i want to make a short film (or maybe just a list if i get bored) about people doing strange things on the phone. I think it's really weird because you are talking to a person, so it's intimate, but it's just your voice so it's also very private. You can be pooping, picking your nose, cooking, waxing your stache, getting a beej, etc. and they probably won't know.

please post your phone-life secrets.

transatlantic accents

It's funny that unicorn jones posted about classic cinema because i've been watching Hitchcock films (the 39 steps and the lady vanishes last night)when mr. fantasy is at work since my computer is broken. Now I am becoming a little bit obsessed with transatlantic accents. I want to have a transatlantic accent more than anything and i think i'm a perfect candidate because i am an american living in london!

I've never met a real life person who talks like that but i think they exist. I imagine that dita von teese speaks with a transatlantic accent. I don't think she really does, but she should.

I'm afraid i'll end up just sounding like a douche who is trying to put on an english accent though.

did you know alfred hitchcock had a phobia of eggs?

"I’m frightened of eggs, worse than frightened, they revolt me. That white round thing without any holes … have you ever seen anything more revolting than an egg yolk breaking and spilling its yellow liquid? Blood is jolly, red. But egg yolk is yellow, revolting. I’ve never tasted it"

Fabulous Halle Berry Talks About Motherhood & Getting Back Into Shape

Halle Berry is taking her time to get back on the scene since she is busy and enjoying her new life with 2-month-old baby Nahla. Of course Halle didn’t lose any time to get back into shape – she has now a rocking post-pregnancy body (photos). Are you enjoying becoming a mother at last?
This is the most beautiful time of my life. Having a baby has made me so happy and fulfilled, I just can’t express in words how I really feel. To be able to nurse and bond with my daughter is such a joy. It’s been a long, long wait!

Did you know you were going to have a girl?
Gabriel and I both agreed that we would rather not know and let it be a wonderful surprise. I just felt a lot more comfortable not knowing.

Has Nahla brought the two of you closer together?
From the beginning, Gabriel was someone I felt I could feel very close and loving to, and I also knew from early on that he was the kind of man who would love a child as much as me. I’m happy just being with a man who loves me unconditionally and is looking forward to the future with me.

Has being a mom changed your approach to your acting career?
I’m definitely going to work less. I used to put so much pressure on myself to succeed that it often made me very unhappy in my personal life, and I felt on the verge of burning out three or four years ago. Also, I feel having a baby will open up a whole new world for me. I think I’ll actually find better roles, because I’ve gotten past being the ingénue and sex symbol.

But you look as gorgeous as ever! Was it tough getting back into shape?
It’s been kind of tough. But I have a great trainer [LA-based trainer Ramona Braganza] and we’ve been working out an hour a day, five days a week, for the past month. I didn’t want it to take five months to get back my figure. It was something I wanted to take care of now and just not worry about. I feel really good.

Have you been able to fit in any other time for yourself?
Well, Nahla is keeping me pretty busy with feedings, but it’s always a pleasure to oblige. Gabriel and I also plan to sleep again in a few months, as soon as Nahla’s nighttime feeding schedule allows!

In a couple of photos, Halle Berry is showing off her political support by wearing a Barack Obama t-shirt, giving this presidential candidate what’s sure to be a great publicity boost.

j'aime la nouvelle vague!

I love french new wave (plus post-new wave umbrellas of cherbourg, technicolor non-stop musical, galore! also, the pic below). the black-and-white film, the existentialism (which I usually have no patience for -- I'm talking to you, thoreau), the using-your-wife-as-a-lead-actress, all of it.

even though I haven't seen more than 10 nouvelle vague films, I enjoy them. especially when they have subtitles so I don't have to rely on my shitty french. anyways, I totally thought jean-luc godard was dead, but apparently, he's not. and that reminded me. if you are bored on a weekend, do these 2 things:

read Pascal's Pensees (a french philosopher's, literally, "thoughts")

and then rent eric rohmer's Ma Nuit Chez Maude. or, rent the movie, and then read pensees. it's really up to you.

I was going to go into why they are good together, but I don't feel like typing anymore so basically 2 dudes in ma nuit chez maude have a philosophical discussion about a couple things in pascal's pensees, and if you've read it and kinda know what they're talking about, it is really sweet.
