7-Eleven Ran Out Of Slurpees Free At Birthday Promotion
Often a small printed phrase "while supplies last," I did not want more than it is on Monday night, because many people around the country went to the store only to find 7-Eleven Slurpees for free chain of convenience stores 84 years offered her birthday on Monday, July 11th.
Many unhappy customers went to Twitter to complain, and even put videos on Youtube frustrated store employees to tell the customer that there were no cups, and out of the free Slurpees announced. NBC 5 self-reported news that the Dallas-based company, offering Freebee Monday.
"Instead of 711 to give free Slurpees, they shoulda gave free gas," one Twitter user wrote.
"Aw, the 711 from my house ran out free Slurpees for my dad to buy only for us," said another.
"A big disappointment. Broke student waiting for something for free, and I was so thirsty when I was there," someone Twitter.
"We gave away about 5 million Slurpee drinks - more than ever, but it seems that the demand was higher this year than we expected," 7-Eleven Margaret Chabris said Communications Director NBCDFW.com
Page 7-Eleven Twitter spent most of the night and morning to apologize to people and give them a toll free number to call.
"[We] mail them a coupon for a free Slurpee drink after collecting information about the store and experience, so we can better plan for next year," said Chabris.
