I <3 travel blogs!

I heart travel blogs. especially when they are people that I know. a couple of my friends have travel blogs that I am super into, even if I don’t read them religiously. I am way into them b/c they provide me with an opportunity to faux-experience for my broke self what it is like to spend a month in Italy, 3 months in Hong Kong, or a year in Argentina. wayyyy better than a douche-y travel book telling you where to go as a tourist. and when it includes pictures of food, even better!!!

Here are some awesome travel blogs (some friends of mine, some peeps I don’t know, some I've already mentioned here):

Soom and Cosmo way south of the border (

Buenos Aires, Argentina):

who they are: 2 american fellas, working and living in buenos aires, learning spanish and the culture
what they post about: integrating themselves w/ the locals, the food, going to futbol games, drinking

The Slums of Shaolin (China):

who he is: an american guy by way of oakland, ca, living and working in china
what he posts about: the food!, traveling, observations, daily life in china, what he expected vs. what is different

La cantina ratti (Alba, Italy):
who she is: an american missy and her friend(s), living in italy and working at a winery
what she posts about: mistranslations, getting into the italian work ethic, learning italian, cultural differences

Elyse Sewell's Journal (Hong Kong and Korea):

who she is: an american working as a model in asia (the chick from america's next top model)
what she posts about: the food, hilarious translations, cultural differences, living with a bunch of models

I'm gonna pitch an idea to a magazine about writing an article about the evolution of travel blogs!

ps please feel free to leave other travel blogs in the comments section!

well this is useful.

i found about this website called 'sea food watch' that tells you what kinds of fish you should buy in terms it being environmentally friendly or harmful. it gives you a lot info and also a good option, an okay option, and a bad option. since the list is long i think there is also a pocket sized version you can print to take to the grocery store/ fish monger's.

a ballet to kid A

you lucky UK motherfuckers. you assholes get a ballet set to radiohead's music.

'Ride The Beast' will make its London debut later this year. Tracks used include 'Hunting Bears', 'Idioteque', 'The National Anthem', 'Fitter Happier' and an acoustic version of 'Creep'.

Choreographer Stephen Petronio explained his choice of music for the piece, saying: "Radiohead's music is a brilliant investigation of achingly modern taste. They sail through genre and form effortlessly and passionately and their music demands a physical response from me that bypasses reason. I have to live with music so intimately while creating with it, I simply have to work with music I love."

'Ride The Beast' will be performed at:
Glasgow Theatre Royal (September 18-20)
Edinburgh Festival Theatre (25-27)
London Queen Elizabeth Hall (October 4-5)
Inverness Eden Court (7-8)
Aberdeen His Majesty's Theatre (10-11)

cavalli for coca cola

I just read that roberto cavalli is designing coca-cola bottles for "Fall 2008." um, what?

The limited run of 300,000 bottles will be distributed exclusively in Italy from September through December. "I had a lot of fun creating three different "dresses" for the legendary silhouette of the Coca Cola Light Contour. They are seductive and feminine, in typical Cavalli style. They’re designed for the world of young people, which has always been a great inspiration to me," notes the designer."

I guess that's cool? except I don't really like collectables (too much junk), and if it cost more I wouldn't buy it, but I like animal print, so . . . je ne sais pas!

Miley Cyrus Out With New Boyfriend & Love Triangle (Photos)

Miley Cyrus was out and about with co-star, Cody Lonely, way past their bedtime on a school night. The two were having fun and they seemed pretty comfortable with each other, which sparked rumors of a romance between them. Or maybe this is just Miley’s plan to get back at Nick Jonas cause he traded her for frenemy Selena Gomez.Nick Jonas, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez are trapped in a love triangle, made public through their music:
Like this past summer when Miley Cyrus bitched about the "7 Things" she hates about some guy, especially how he makes her love him. That was totally all about Nick Jonas! And then Nick had a song on the new Jonas Brothers album called “Sorry” about him and a special someone “going our separate ways.” Could he have been talking about Miley?
Now, Selena Gomez is getting in on the meaningful lyric game with a song titled “I’m Sorry,” which she tells Twist about:
“A boy I kind of fell for, but he couldn't let his ex-girlfriend go, and it was really difficult. And I felt like in a way, I wasn't good enough. So the song is basically me saying that I'm sorry that it didn't work out or that she used to be who she was, but you have to let me in and you have to know that I'll do everything I can to make you happy and be the best I can be." So young and so much drama and hate! Miley Cyrus seems to be totally over Nick and into Cody! Romance is in the air.

orly?

officially, columbia pictures has decided to make a ghosbusters 3, under the condition that all the main original cast members would return.

into it? I had my first kiss while watching the original ghostbusters, nananana!!! I never saw the second one, but I will go see this one. the writers from "the office" are doing the script, so hopefully it won't suck (talking to you, new indiana jones).
