what is your stripper song? (aka boner jamz '10)

kd fantasy recently asked me what my stripper/burlesque/lap dance song would be and I was totally stumped. she said she really liked the lap dance song from deathproof but didn't want to choose it as it was already in a movie. I haven't seen it yet so she sent me the video and I instantly got an uber boner. for those of you who haven't seen it:

damn. girl works it. I never knew khaki shorts and flip flops could be so sexy. then I decided I wanted my song to be some old soul southern song.


So, we decided for your (our) pleasure, we would put together a top 5 stripper song list. feel free to add to it.

1) this song belongs in a dark room where everybody is drinking beers and maybe some of them are doing dope. this is the lap dance song of a girl who is supremely sexy and slightly fucked up (from drugs, not from life) and she is giving a dance to a dude in a room full of other dudes but only has eyes for her recipient.


2) this is a classic in dingy strip clubs in small towns (I'm guessing, as I've never been to a dingy strip club in a small town). this is the stripper dance of a white trash-y in her late 20s who kills it with this song despite being a mother of two where most of the audience is dads and one of them realizes the stripper was his daughters bff when they were in 5th grade.


3) it's not as cool as the oldies but it's a different vibe. this is the lap dance song of a slutty white hipster girl who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and all the rich girls want to be her friend but will never be as cool as she is. or as slutty. (well maybe as slutty).


4) this is what kd says about this one: this song makes me want to have a 70s party were everyone is a little stoned and makes out. this is the stripper song of a not-ghetto black girl who is cute and short and VERY curvy but owns it.


5) ahh, the cougar. according to mr jones, the cougar is "the most hunted animal of all the creatures." and if she was giving a lapdance, this is definitely what she would dance to.



feel free to add any songs you think would be good to strip to. but they better be boner-inducing.

okay. so i feel like i have been slacking in the blog posting department, but this one will make up for it, i promise.

a friend of mine asked me this weekend if i was familiar with the ballroom scene. I wasn't, so he filled me in:



the ball scene, aka the house system is an underground gay subculture, predominantly black and latino (i think), in which trans-gender individuals compete for trophies by having walk-offs. apparently this is where 'voguing' originated from. The people involved in these events belong to certain houses, sometimes named after fashion designers, which have a leader and somtimes several other ranking positions (house mother, house father). when you belong to the house, you incorporate it's name into your own name; for example if i belonged to the house of Xtravaganza I would be KD Fantasy Xtravaganza.

here are some famous houses:
House of Corey
House of LaBeija
House of Ninja (i think one of the house of ninja was on ANTM)
House of Pendavis
House of Garavani
House of Xtravaganza

This is a whole house performing, with a batman theme




Besides providing a support system for its members, the main function of these houses is to compete against one another in "walks" or "drag walks" in which they are judged on dance skills, costume, general appearance, and attitude. Participants dress according to category in which they are competing and are expected to display appropriate "realness.

Categories can include:
banjee realness (?)
butch queen (emphasizes masculinity)
executive realness (also known as Wall Street)
drag queen (emphasizes extravagance)
fag out (displaying androgyny and stereotypical gayness)
fem queen (emphasizes femininity)
old way (showcasing dance styles from circa mid-1990s and before)
preppie realness (also known as Town & Country)
AND MUCH MORE!!!

dancing w/ cats

At the beach last week on of my friend’s sister had this amazing book called “Dancing with Cats.” It is exactly what it sounds like (although when I first saw it I thought it was an instructional book on how to learn the different dances from the musical “Cats”). Different stories (and pictures!) of people (old, young, etc) dancing with their cats, how they got started, and what it means to them. they are totally serious. It is completely fucking bizarre.

bollywood

I've never been super into bollywood movies, in fact, I don't think I've ever seen a bollywood film, but after watching this dance attack, methinks I really really need to netflix some.



I especially like the part when the girl firsts comes in and looks at the camera and then all of a sudden she nods and she and her gfs go into this J.O.-ing move.
