WHAT
During the filming and advertising plans Seven Year Itch, Marilyn Monroe was on top of a subway grate in New York with a white pleated dress designed by the legendary William Travilla. A breath of fresh air from a subway train passing under the cloak of kicks and dropped two clothing and its wearer super star. The image remains one of the highlights of Hollywood's most memorable film.
This iconic dress is scheduled to be auctioned June 18 Its future is uncertain and the enormous historical importance has triggered widespread concern that may be acquired by a private collector, never to be seen again.
Save-the-dress brought together individuals and organizations to note the worlds of fashion, film and art to save your clothes and put on permanent display in New York City, the town where the dress Marilyn Monroe and reached iconic status in American popular culture.
The press conference will present key members and supporters of the Save-the-field dress and the trade component of its strategic plan to rescue, preserve and provide public access to the clothing.
